Blue Hosta
Hosta fortunei hyacinthina

Thick, heart-shaped leaves emerge blue green in spring maturing to a gray green in summer and form a lush, symmetrical mound.  Spikes of lavender flowers rise above the foliage from July through August.

A maintenance free perennial that is used for both its foliage and flowers.  Prefers organic rich, moist, well-drained soils, but will tolerate average, medium-wet, well-drained soils.

Excellent specimen or small group in shade gardens, shady borders and beds, woodland gardens, or used either as an edging for borders or for ground cover by planting in masses.  Is also good in containers.
