Native to eastern U.S.  Bright red flowers in early spring before leaves appear.  Medium to dark green leaves turn yellow to brilliant red in fall.

Dense foliage makes it a good shade tree.  Pyramidal when young becoming rounded with age.

Tolerates a wide range of soil types from poor, dry to wet and swampy.  Excellent shade tree or wetland species.

Zone: 3-9 Fast growing Height: 40-60 ft. Spread: 25-45 ft.
