Spruce, Black Hills
Picea glauca densata

One of the most tolerant spruces as it withstands wind, heat, cold, drought and crowding.

Very dense, compact and pyramidal.  Short, stiff, dark green to bluish-green needles.  Doesn't get rangy or out of control as it matures.

Best in full sun.  Ordinary soil.  Excellent as specimen tree or for screening.

Can also be used in containers year round.  Is slow growing.

Zone: 2-6 Height: 20-40 ft. Spread: 20-30 ft.
