Pinus mugo mughus

A low growing, spreading, pine shrub.  Has dense, broadly spreading branches with upright stems of stiff, dark green needles, 2-3 inches long.  Used for foundations, borders, rock and Japanese gardens.

Very hardy.  Adapts to a wide range of soils and tolerates poor, rocky, cold, dry, and windy conditions.  Only requirement is good drainage.

Also tolerates part shade. A very slow growing plant.
