Panicum virgatum 'Northwind'

Native to North America.  Stiff upright growth habit makes for strong vertical accent.  V-shaped when mature.

Wide leaves are blue-green turning olive-green in the heat of the summer.  Topped with attractive, narrow plumes held incredibly erect atop the foliage.

Vigorous grower and spreader.  Late to begin growth in garden, but when it starts, growth is rapid.

Prefers full sun.  Thrives in poorly drained to dry soils.  Cut back in early spring to promote new flush of growth.

Zone: 4-9 Height: 4-6 ft. Spread: 2-3 ft.
