Phlox, Pink Creeping or Moss Phlox subulata 'Emerald Pink' One of the signals that spring has arrived. Solid masses of small, rose pink flowers bloom from May to June. The flowers literally blanket the foliage. This perennial is a creeping, flowering, semi-evergreen groundcover. Compact, glossy, dark green foliage of short, pine-needle like leaves form a thick mat that hugs the ground. The flowers are distinctively phlox - star shaped, five-petaled, and flat faced with notched petals. An easy to grow, low maintenance plant. Moisture needs are low to average, so it's good for that hot, dry spot. Looks great in borders, for edging, in rock gardens, or in cracks or on tops of walls to cascade. Zone: 2-9 Height: 4-6 in.
