This classic perennial has four season interest as it progresses through the year. In spring, a compact, dense crown of shoots appear looking like tiny little cabbages.  It grows into an upright, jade-like looking plant with succulent, gray green leaves.

In the summer the plant starts breaking flower buds that form an ivory green broccoli-like head.  The flowers emerge light pink and turn a deep rosy salmon in full bloom.  With the onset of cooler weather in the fall the flowers turn to a copper red and then eventually to dark mahogany seed heads.  Leave the large seed heads in place for winter interest.

Very hardy, low maintenance and easy to grow.  Excellent in borders, foundations, rock gardens, and for edging.
