Armeria maritima 'Glory of Holland''

This one looks like a small flowering pin cushion.  The low growing, compact, dense evergreen mound of narrow, dark green, grass-like foliage forms the cushion.  The pins are the ball-like, paper textured flower heads of clear pink flowers that blossom on leafless stems held high above the foliage.

It blooms late spring and early summer with sporadic blooming throughout the rest of the summer season.  The clumps spread slowly. Is attractive to butterflies.  No serious insect or disease problems and is deer resistant.

A small accent plant that is conducive to edging borders, foundations, beds and walkways especially since it is tolerant of salt.  Prefers full sun in northern climates and some shade in southern climates.  Do not fertilize and does not like a lot of moisture.
